We are delighted to announce that the S1 has been chosen as 'Best on Test' in the 'Ultimate Trolley Test' featured in the latest issue of Golf Monthly.
The comprehensive test involved putting 12 leading electric and manual trolleys through their paces at the recently opened Centurion Club near St Albans, an ideal course chosen to simulate both undulating modern golf holes and flatter, more traditional tree-lined ones. The trolleys were marked on Ergonomics/Manoeuvrability, Functionality, Desirability/Styling, Value, Build quality, Bag fit, Ease of folding & Folded size. We supplied three models for testing - the S1, M1 PRO and S1 Lite Push Cart - with all trolleys being given a thorough critique and review.
The S1 was the runaway winner, finishing 5 points above second place thanks to top marks in Ergonomics/Manoeuvrability (47/50), Value (27/30), Build Quality (18/20), Ease of folding (9/10) and both Bag fit/Folded size also receiving an impressive 8/10 each. The panel struggled to find any negatives and the simplicity, quietness and manoeuvrability were also highlighted as notable positives. According to the test summary:
"The Motocaddy S1 stands out from the crowd as a fantastic performer. Stylish looks are combined with impressive build quality, ease of use and all at a very competitive price whether you opt for the Lithium or lead-acid offering".
The M1 PRO finished a mere 2 marks off a podium finish, with testers finding that the trolley "folds down smaller than any other electric trolley I have tried". The compact folding model, launched earlier this year, was marked highly for Ergonomics/Manoeuvrability (45/50), Build quality (18/20) and Size when folded (9/10). Editor Mike Harris concluded that the M1 PRO:
"Is the perfect option for anyone who wants an electric trolley, but who struggles for boot space. It features the trademark Motocaddy build quality".
The main negative that kept the M1 PRO from a higher finish was that the folding process takes time to perfect - coincidently we are pleased to announce a brand new tutorial video launched to show just how easy it is once you get the hang of it!
Finally, the S1 Lite was awarded impressive marks for Value (28/30), Build quality (18/20), Bag fit (9/10) plus both Folded size and Ease of folding (8/10). The verdict was that the S1 Lite was:
"Exceptional value for money in this category and comes with the reliability and reassurance that you can normally expect from Motocaddy".
